Spotlight is the gateway to everything - from launching apps to answering questions and performing powerful actions - all instantly, directly from your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. As a core system experience, Spotlight plays a critical role in how users interact with their devices every day! We're looking for an exceptional Engineering Manager to lead the Spotlight UI team in delivering elegant, high-performance search experiences. You'll work alongside a world-class group of engineers and designers to push the boundaries of intuitive interaction!

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Hire, mentor, and support a team of talented engineers.
• Foster individual growth, set clear expectations, and build a culture of ownership and collaboration.
• Partner with designers, product owners, and engineering peers to define and deliver user-facing features that feel magical.
• Balance performance, scalability, and maintainability in product execution.
• Represent Spotlight UI across the organization.
• Work closely with system software teams, platform architects, and UX designers to integrate seamlessly into the broader ecosystem.
• Help the team focus on what matters most.
• Evaluate trade-offs, question assumptions, and guide the team to make thoughtful, data-informed decisions.
• Quickly ramp up on the broader system architecture.
• Connect the dots between frameworks, UI layers, and platform capabilities to drive innovation from the inside out.
