Back Market is the world's leading refurbished electronics marketplace, with a mission to empower people to consume tech sustainably. We are building our first engineering team in New York City, and we are looking for a passionate iOS Tech Lead/Manager to join our office in Union Square. This role is pivotal in our strategic app-first approach to the US market, where our goal is to enhance user engagement by accelerating the development of innovative features and optimizing the overall app experience. As the Tech Lead/Manager, you will lead our first US-based engineering team, which includes two other iOS engineers and two backend engineers. You will be at the forefront of our mobile engineering efforts, creating an exceptional customer experience for our service offering within our mobile application. In this role, you will be instrumental in aligning, designing, and driving the architectural vision for our mobile platforms and app features. Your expertise in native iOS platforms, combined with your ability to make strategic decisions and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, will be key to driving our mobile engineering success. You will collaborate closely with the product manager and UX designer to ensure that the right set of features, priorities, and impacts are being designed and delivered at velocity. Additionally, you will participate in the Back Market mobile community, partnering with others to continuously improve our practices. Your responsibilities will include leading the team in delivering high-quality iOS user experiences, setting benchmarks for excellence and scalability, and propelling our app's capabilities and product cycle velocity. You will elevate the development of advanced app-first features by emphasizing iOS platform innovation and actively building expertise within the mobile engineering community at Back Market. You will also take ownership of significant technical projects, managing dependencies both internally and externally to realize the engineering and product visions. Furthermore, you will drive the user experience forward by partnering with Product Managers and Designers, implementing intuitive UI animations, transitions, and accessibility features while ensuring adherence to our Design System. Architecting robust and efficient code patterns, advocating for efficient testing methodologies, and monitoring app performance will also be key aspects of your role.
