About The Position

At GSX the I/O Psychologist II is a non-supervisory position that will focus heavily on psychometric analysis of test and item functioning using Classical Test Theory (CTT) and Item Response Theory (IRT). The I/O Psychologist II will work under the guidance of an I/O Psychologist III, IV, and/or V to support client work and internal GSX initiatives. The I/O Psychologist II will support both quantitative and qualitative analytic efforts and is proficient with basic analytic tools. The I-O Psychologist II will also provide technical support in other work functions such as: Talent Development and Management, Workforce Development and Management, Competency Development and Management, Learning and Development, Credentialing, and Job Design. Specific responsibilities include performing literature reviews; assisting in the development of surveys, testing, and training materials; administering data collection measures; analyzing data; and assisting in the development of project reports, provide support for implementing procedures, and supporting project tasks. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in I-O Psychology or similar from an accredited university.
  • 3-7 years or more experience in support of I/O development activities for government or commercial agencies.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Suite and data analysis tools (e.g., Lertap, SPSS, R, or Python) for workforce and organizational analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Apply detailed skill or knowledge of test theory, psychometric methodology, and statistics to research and analyze data related to workforce analysis.
  • Conduct basic psychometric data analysis on assessments (i.e., pilot-tests, production, ongoing maintenance) and surveys (e.g., item-level, test-level, demographics, etc.) using CTT and IRT.
  • Analyze job requirements (e.g. tasks and competencies) to support development of I/O and/or Human Resource testing and career development tools.
  • Provide technical support to design, develop, implement, and maintain certification programs.
  • Provide support to more senior I/O psychologists in client work on certification implementation and maintenance through status updates, custom solutions, product adjustments, and process recommendations.
  • Provide technical support in all aspects of the development and execution of certification assessments.
  • Provide technical support in job analyses (to include but not limited to, Job Task Analysis (JTA), Functional Job analysis (FJA), and Competency Modeling), to identify core tasks, competencies, and requirements for a variety of occupational series.
  • Support more senior I/O psychologists in the internal review and evaluation of position descriptions to ensure alignment with GSX and classification standards.
  • Assist in the development of competency models and frameworks to support human capital management and organizational development.
  • Provide evidence-based recommendations for job alignment, role clarity, and organizational efficiency for both internal talent development initiatives and client work (as requested).
  • Design and support the execution of large and small group facilitation activities such as focus groups, workshops, listening sessions, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate group sessions, guiding discussions and ensuring inclusive, productive participation.
  • Capture, analyze, and synthesize qualitative data from group interventions, including developing themes, findings, and recommendations.
  • Draft session reports, briefing materials, and presentation decks for both internal and client use.
  • Support the development of facilitation materials, including agendas, discussion guides, and interactive exercises.
  • Assist project managers in project activity efforts, including planning, scheduling, logistics coordination, and stakeholder communication
  • Collaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders to ensure successful project execution and high-quality deliverables.
  • Contribute to knowledge management by maintaining records of session outputs and lessons learned.
  • Prepare technical and non-technical reports, documentation, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
