About The Position

Linde Gases US (LGUS) has an immediate opening for an I&E Technician to support our HyCO (Hydrogen and CO) operating plants. This position is responsible for providing planning and onsite support to the plant, with a strong focus on critical safety systems and system reliability. The technician will be willing to travel to other plants in the region to assist in duties of day to day and turnaround opportunities. Responsibilities include performing calibrations, troubleshooting, repairs, and instrumentation installations as required, as well as maintaining, operating, and documenting maintenance history for all equipment. The technician will prepare and maintain documentation such as EAM work orders, Contractor Service Reports, and equipment calibration records as required by Procal Instrumentation Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Associates in Applied Sciences Degree or equivalent apprenticeship preferred.
  • 3+ years related experience in process control instrumentation.
  • Proficiency with a variety of I/E hand tools, meters, instrument calibration equipment, etc.
  • Working knowledge of electricity, electrical systems, and motors.
  • Ability to read and understand P&ID's and schematic wiring diagrams.
  • Strong organization and planning skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a high degree of personal safety and environmental awareness at all times.
  • Troubleshooting, calibration, and maintenance of pneumatic, electronic, analog, and digital process control instrumentation.
  • Troubleshoot/Repair Predictive program instrumentation and document instrumentation repair history in the CMMS system as required by site specific documentation.
  • Troubleshoot systems utilizing Schematic Wiring Diagrams (SWD) and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) as they relate to process control.
  • Troubleshooting, maintenance, and minor repair of low voltage electrical systems (600VAC and below).
  • Day to day Process Analytical Equipment Calibration and Maintenance, including Thermal Conductivity, Flame Ionization, Paramagnetic, Electrolytic, Fuel Cell, and Gas Chromatography process analyzers.
  • Schedule and perform activities related to the operation and maintenance of electrical and electronic control systems, pneumatic instrumentation, control valves, motor control systems, low voltage electrical distribution, computer interfaces, and analytical equipment.
  • Troubleshooting, Maintenance, Repair/Replacement of Automatic Control Valves.
  • Ensure replacement spare parts are available or replaced once installed.
  • Climb ladders, stairways, and operate man-lifts for elevated instrumentation and control valve maintenance.
  • Instruct contract personnel on safety rules, regulations, and maintain constant surveillance to assure their compliance at all times.
  • Be available for 'On Call' duties periodically, carrying a company cell phone for availability.
  • Possess a valid state issued driver license in good standing with the issuing state.
