Linde is seeking a skilled and motivated Instrumentation and Electrical Technician to join our team in Kansas City, MO. This role is critical to ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our production facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving instrumentation systems across multiple processes. Requirements

  • Associate degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Engineering Technology.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience maintaining industrial instrumentation systems.
  • Strong background in installation, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of instrumentation.
  • Solid understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, work at heights, and in confined spaces.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard business software.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and industrial codes and standards.
  • Experience with process control systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with asset management systems such as Infor EAM and ProCal.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial instrumentation including transmitters, PLCs, analyzers, meters, and control valves.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain low-voltage electrical systems (<600V), including motors, UPS systems, breakers, and transformers.
  • Understand and operate switchgear control systems; safely rack breakers in and out.
  • Develop and execute preventive and corrective maintenance plans.
  • Support root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement long-term solutions.
  • Read and update P&IDs and electrical schematics in accordance with SOPs, QA, and MOC policies.
  • Identify and resolve chronic instrumentation issues and long-term reliability threats.
  • Assist in planning and estimating instrumentation work for plant turnarounds.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies and instrumentation systems.
  • Train and mentor new and existing instrumentation personnel.
  • Lead implementation and compliance of ProCal (instrument calibration/asset management software).
  • Support FDA and cGMP validation activities for instrumentation systems.
  • Analyze equipment performance data to ensure optimal efficiency and reliability.
  • Provide technical support to plant and contractor personnel, both on-site and remotely.
  • Respond to high-impact issues with urgency and professionalism.
  • Operate forklifts and man-lifts as needed.
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
