General Description: Instrumentation & Electrical Technicians are responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of all equipment in their areas of responsibility. They will make recommendations to the Maintenance Team on any corrective measures that will result in greater efficiency, quality and economy of operations. During capital projects, they may be called on for consultation, inspection or to assist in the selection and installation of new equipment. How You Will Make an Impact: Provide responsive maintenance services to the site by completing scheduled work orders. Provide trouble shooting support and expertise for plant control systems (DCS, PLCs, boiler and heater burner management systems, etc). Provide trouble shooting support and expertise for plant I&E equipment / systems (Distribution switches, MCCs, UPS, VFDs, Motor Starters, Level, Flow, Pressure and Temperature Transmitters). Utilize instrument communicator tools to troubleshoot instrumentation issues. Support both maintenance and capital projects by providing feedback on design for reliability for I&E equipment / systems. Develop and maintain PM programs for the site I&E systems, power distribution, and critical equipment Be a point of contact to interface with I&E suppliers / vendors. Maintain a safe and effective work environment. Work within the guidelines and requirements established by the Manager of Plant Services to meet all requirements for Process Safety Management. Keep accurate records of all repairs in areas of responsibility through use of the Computerized Maintenance Management System database (CMMS). Perform any other maintenance work as deemed necessary, but always retain responsibility for the proper operation and maintenance of the assigned equipment in the Texas Operations plants. Keep work areas neat and orderly at all times. Be cognizant of the fact that the Texas Operations is always a clean, well-kept workplace and assist on a continuing basis to keep it in that condition at all times. Cooperate with the department to meet the requirements of ISO-9002 programs, policies and procedures, and to ensure continued compliance through regular internal audits and team meetings. Responsible Care Management Responsibilities and Authority Practice Responsible Care Management through active participation and adherence to the Guiding Principles of the Responsible Care Management System and contribute to the sustainability of the OSHA VPP Program by continuing to uphold the principles demonstrated as a STAR site.
