About The Position

Instrumentation and Electrician Technician Must be able to test, calibrate, troubleshoot, overhaul and repair controlling, indicating and measuring instrument devices to ensure specified operating performance using hand tools, testing and calibrating instruments and equipment and precision measuring instruments. Ability to read and understand manuals, blueprint schematics and testing specifications. Must have some knowledge of electrical schematics and PLCs. Other duties may be assigned. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Instrument Technician Calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and replace process instruments as a part of the facility’s maintenance program Maintain process instruments including valves, vibration monitors and other instruments Pressure test pneumatic instruments for leaks, pneumatic instruments with controllers, transducers, and valves in service Conduct instrumentation evaluation and troubleshooting for electrical, pneumatic, electronic as well as programmable logic control (PLC) systems Loop check electrical wiring for continuity and proper termination Perform field calibration of electronic instruments with transmitters, controllers, transducers, valves, and recorders in service Read, understand, correlate, and trouble-shoot from one-line schematics P & ID's, and ladder diagrams Knowledgeable in the use of electrical equipment testers including V.O.M., AMP meter and 1000-volt insulation tester Knowledgeable in communication and applicable electrical OSHA rules and regulations National Center for Construction Education and Research’s (NCCER) certification for Instrumentation. Qualifications Required for this Position: Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. NCCER certified and State Electrical License. Plant Maintenance experience preferred.

Requirements

  • Plant Maintenance experience preferred.
