About The Position

I&E technician is responsible for maintenance and troubleshooting support for all instrumentation and electrical equipment associated with natural gas midstream facilities. Description • Maintain and service pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters, as well as vibration monitoring systems on rotary screw and reciprocating compressors. • Program, calibrate, and troubleshoot PLCs (Delta V, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider) and HMI systems used for plant automation and safety systems. • Perform routine inspections and diagnostics on electrical components including motors, starters, MCCs, VFDs, and backup power systems. • Perform loop checks, continuity tests, insulation resistance tests, and equipment grounding verification to ensure system reliability and safety. • Assist in installation and commissioning of new equipment, ensuring proper integration of control and electrical systems. • Troubleshoot, calibrate, repair, tune, configure and install electronic I/P converters and positioners. • Maintain, service, troubleshoot compressor and dehy panels and their systems. • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain various VFD, PLC, RTU, and HMI, systems. • Manages spare parts and materials inventory in an economic and prudent manner. • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical drawings, maintenance records, maintenance procedures, equipment drawings, and maintenance manuals. • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams on instrumentation design, loop checks, commissioning, and FAT/SAT processes. • Ensure all work adheres to company standards, industry codes (ISA, IEC), and safety regulations, including documentation for MOC and maintenance records. • Document maintenance activities and calibration data in compliance with regulatory and internal standards using EMaintenance. • Ensure full compliance with NFPA 70E, NEC, and other applicable electrical codes, as well as facility-specific HSE policies and permit systems.

Requirements

  • Safety-conscious
  • Journeyman electrical designation is highly preferred
  • Ability to self-motivate and work independently with little supervision
  • Perform call out duties for equipment and inspection request
  • Competent computer skills, experience in Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with relevant software for data logging and Inspection management systems.
  • Communication Skills: Clear communication to convey problems to team members.
  • Participating in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) sessions
  • Maintain regulatory, environmental, and safety compliance in conjunction with and through close coordination with the operations, engineers, foreman, superintendent and safety teams
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience as an I&E technician or similar role
  • Able to react to potentially dangerous situations quickly and appropriately.
  • Able to stand, walk, lift to 50 lbs., bend, have visual acuity, hearing, and speaking.
  • Able to climb 15-foot plus high ladders and stairwells.
  • Able to work in hot and cold weather.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must live within a 45-mile radius of operating area
  • Good understanding of local geography preferred
