About The Position

Clean Harbors is searching for a licensed, reliable and safety oriented I&E Technician to join our Deer Park, TX team! The Electrical and Instrumentation Technician will be responsible for performing hands-on instrument checks, calibrations, and PLC Ladder Logic, along with diagnosing issues with control circuitry and assisting the electrical and maintenance departments with various tasks as needed. Requirements

  • HS Diploma OR Equivalent required
  • Texas Journeyman Electrician License, NCCER Industrial Electrician or Military Equivalent
  • PLC Ladder Logic
  • Experience reading blueprints, and electronic schematics
  • Proficiency reading process and instrumentation diagrams (PIDs)
  • Knowledge of Data Control Systems (DCS)
  • Experience with 480v and below
  • Lift up 50lb, climbing ladders, stooping, bending, standing for long periods of time
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions

Nice To Haves

  • VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) Programming knowledge preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner
  • Troubleshoots instrument and control malfunctions
  • Performs preventative maintenance checks and calibrations
  • Maintains accurate records and logs as required
  • Installs new system controls (including power wiring)
  • Installs cabling, power distribution systems, and motor control centers
  • Services and replaces motors and lighting
  • Performs general electrical maintenance
  • Other duties as assigned
