About The Position

The I&E Technician - Predictive Maintenance role at Evonik Corporation involves applying industrial safety requirements and utilizing various tools and equipment to maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation and electrical systems. The technician will work on calibration, configuration, and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation equipment, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and standards. Requirements

  • High School education or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of two years in the I/E TE-1 Trainee level (if existing Evonik I/E) strongly preferred.
  • Adequate score on written/hands-on testing to achieve TE-2 level required.
  • Chemical Industry experience required.
  • MCE certification required.
  • Infrared certification required.
  • Demonstrated experience and skill for the I/E craft is required, achievable through recognized training organizations.
  • A one-year certificate of successful completion of an Instrumentation or Electrical skills training curriculum.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and apply all Industrial Safety requirements for the Instrument and Electrical crafts in assigned plants or shops.
  • Use common tools of the Instrument/Electrical crafts, including hand tools, power tools, and electrical/electronic test equipment.
  • Work on Instrumentation Calibration and configuration, Pneumatic Control Valves Actuators and Positioners, performing Loop Checks, Troubleshooting, and Commissioning a Loop.
  • Apply knowledge of Motors Theory and its applications.
  • Mentor others on principles of Electrical Theory, E/I Test Equipment, and Process Math.
  • Read, interpret, and implement electrical codes, manuals, procedures, schematic diagrams, and P&ID's.
  • Install power supply and signal wiring/cables, cable tray, and conduit for newly installed machines and electrical equipment.
  • Order parts and materials for routine installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical equipment and instrumentation.
  • Complete the Evonik Corporation progression system for Instrument/Electrical courses as required for promotion.
  • Participate in on/off site vendor or technical training.
