About The Position

The I E Technician position at CVR Energy is responsible for the predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance of electrical distribution, instrumentation, and automated control systems in a chemical plant environment. This role requires a self-starter who promotes safety, possesses strong work ethics, and thrives in a collaborative team setting, ensuring the plant operates efficiently 24/7/365.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in repairing and troubleshooting automation, instruments, and controls preferred.
• Technical certification from an accredited trade school or military occupational specialty (MOS) code preferred.
• State Electrical License or certificate from a recognized electrical apprenticeship training program preferred.
• Fluent in English, both oral and written required.
• Strong working aptitude with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• High electro/mechanical aptitude and familiarity with CMMS software.

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge of electro/pneumatic valve actuators and I-P/P-I controllers.
• Familiarity with distributed control systems (DCS), specifically Schneider-Invensys Evo.
• Experience with gas chromatographs and combustion analyzers.
• Knowledge of fieldbus communication protocols such as ethernet IP and Modbus.

Responsibilities

• Perform predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance on electrical distribution and control systems.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a wide array of electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Participate in project planning and update various drawings and work procedures.
• Install new electrical distribution and control systems equipment as per scheduled projects.
• Communicate with management regarding work progress and concerns.
• Adhere to environmental, health, and safety policies, including NFPA 70E standards.
• Act as a liaison between work groups to improve performance and reliability.
• Participate in on-call rotation and work scheduled shifts, including possible overtime.
