About The Position

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES General description of main/primary duties and responsibilities of the job, aptitude, level of complexity, span of control, autonomy, decision making and judgement. It is central and necessary to the satisfactory performance of the job. Includes the following and other duties as assigned. Under limited supervision, this position will: Be responsible for the material resources, overseeing contractors and technicians, cost tracking, and by leading the process of continuous improvement and development. Motivate the team to contribute and achieve department goals set by production, provide control system layout and design. Monitor control systems or repair of systems to ensure proper setup, communication, operation, and function of the safety systems which include ESD’s, and instruments designed to maintain safe operating parameters. Make decisions and recommendations to develop and promote a safe work environment, this includes all safe practices involved with the new installation or operation of well pad electronics. Maintain good communication with contractors and team of I&E Technicians to provide quality on time delivery of site electronics or repair and maintenance including the proper function of all devices associated with the site. Work with the Sr. I&E Supervisor to develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Best Management Practices (BMPs), and task specific procedures that will ensure safe operations of I&E team and facilities. Partner with the contractors to design and improve software. Help plan and build internal expertise on programming and developing software. Understand, apply, and identify areas of improvement by incorporating the principles of operation for all devices and instruments used by the I&E Techs such as multi-meters, pressure calibrators, temperature calibrators, RS232, RS485 communications, and 475 Hart communications. Identify and analyze problems to implement effective course of correction action, and perform Root Cause Failure Analysis as necessary. Read and interpret drawings, schematics, sketches, and specs in order to make recommendations for proposed installations and completed projects, incorporating areas for continuous improvement. Follow all the safety, health, and environmental policies, procedures, and requirements, ensuring personal safety, safety of others, and safety of the surrounding areas. Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Education, Experience, Licensure (minimum level required) High School Diploma or equivalent. At least eight (8) years of oilfield or related I&E field experience. CORE COMPETENCIES List and describe the required factors (i.e. knowledge, skills, abilities, software programs), that are needed for this role. Understand the instrumentation & electrical programming software. Possess knowledge of I&E craft and maintenance. Strong knowledge of piping and instrument diagrams, signal flow diagrams, wiring diagrams, panel drawings, one-line drawings, loop sheets, and wire lists. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, etc. and use/ operation of standard office equipment. Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with staff, management, customers, and vendors. Ability to be detail orientated, a self-starter, and maintain goals and tasks. Ability to present, demonstrate, teach, or guide others in performance of assigned work. Good collaborative and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead. Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines. SAFETY SENSITIVE RELATED If applicable. For designation above and field related positions. Ability to safely operate vehicles, equipment, and tools. Able to recognize and apply safety processes and procedures. Possess valid driver’s license and clean driving record (MVR) that meet Company’s Insurance qualifications to operate Company vehicle. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This role will have lead responsibilities over a team of I&E Technicians. Supervises two (2) or more Full-Time Employees regularly. Responsible for regularly making decisions and/or recommendations concerning: Interviewing/hiring. Mentoring/ongoing training. Setting or adjusting work hours. Plan, appoint, and direct the work. Appraise performance/productivity and efficiency. Handle initial complaints/grievances and disciplinary issues. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Excludes occasional visitation to the field – reference Travel section. Both Office and Field Related: Job is performed in both the office and in the field work environment. Approximately 10% in the office and 90% in the field. This position may be subject to: Exposure to computer screens and requires regular use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. Extreme Cold and Heat: temperatures typically below 32o F or above 100o F for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions as wind, rain, snow, and humidity. Noise: there is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level. Vibration: exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body. Confined Space: work areas large enough for individual to enter, limited means of entry or exit, and not designed for continue occupancy. Hazards: includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to chemicals, combustibles, explosives, etc. HOURS / SHIFTS Regular business hours. For example, Monday-Friday, 7am – 3pm. Alternative shift schedule: 7&7 PHYSICAL DEMANDS Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Regularly lift, push, carry and/or move up to 50 pounds. Regularly be able to bend, stoop, crouch, etc. Usual field site/location visits may present more strenuous exertion than office work. Frequent amount of traversing through challenging terrain to perform work, evaluate sites and conditions, inspect equipment/assets, etc. TRAVEL Approximate amount of time. Minimal travel may be required to other locations. Frequent travel to Company’s field operations and/or offices. Approximately 90% of time in field.
