As an I&C Technician, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing instrumentation, equipment, and control systems. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, critical thinking, and collaboration with the entire Facilities Operations/Maintenance department. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliable operation of control systems and instrumentation, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of our technology. This position is based in Idaho Falls Idaho.

  • I&C Assembly & Fabrication
  • Build, assemble and test high-quality PLC components and wire harnesses
  • Follow electrical/I&C drawings and industry standards to ensure precise construction
  • Use standard tools and electronics equipment (e.g., DMMs, oscilloscopes, programmable power supplies) for builds and testing.
  • Calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation, equipment, and control systems, ensuring optimal functionality within the facility.
  • Troubleshoot, program, and improve control systems, including PLCs, controllers, and final control elements to support automated processes
  • Measure and monitor levels, pressures, temperatures, flow, and analytical processes, ensuring accuracy and reliability of data
  • Assist in troubleshooting, upgrading, and installing new control systems, ensuring seamless integration and operation
  • Use complex electrical schematics and blueprints to troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring systems operate correctly and efficiently
  • Documentation & Process Execution
  • Read and interpret technical documentation, including schematics and work instructions
  • Document all work clearly and accurately on internal platforms (e.g., Outlook, shop floor systems)
  • Assist with first-run production processes and support process improvement efforts
  • Testing & Quality
  • Run tests and report results with precision
  • Perform verification of electrical/I&C assemblies and identify issues in design or vendor quality
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and accuracy, contributing to a quality-first culture
  • 2+ years of professional experience with electronics tools and test equipment
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience using mechanical and/or electronics hand tools
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering documentation
  • Ability to read and comprehend wiring diagrams, electrical prints & schematics, loop drawings and P&IDs
  • Ability to stand for long periods, climb ladders, bend, stoop, stretch, and lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
  • Must be able to distinguish wire and connector color codes
  • Associate’s degree in electronics, electromechanical technology, or related field
  • 6+ years of experience working with wire harnesses and I&C production environments
  • Familiarity with fast-paced manufacturing environments
  • Strong attention to detail, self-directed work ethic, and excellent teamwork and communication skills
