Starting Pay 50.75/hour Job Summary : This is not a training position, this position is for a qualified Journeyman with an 18 month training period for the Plant, and moved to Journey-level pay after 6 months. A Journeyman in Training (Electrical) must be able to complete any task assigned with the assistance of a qualified Journeyman. This will consist of being able to troubleshoot and maintain low and medium voltage switches associated with motors, power transformers, distribution transformers, motor operated valves, power circuit breakers and generators. They maintain solid state control system associated with the equipment listed above. They will troubleshoot and maintain programmable logic controllers. Must have the ability to check and calibrate basic protective relays, over-current over/under voltage, etc. Must have good working knowledge of schematics, logic drawings, location drawings, vendor drawings and manuals is necessary in problem solving. They must have the ability to use electrical test equipment (i.e. volt/ohm meter, Hi pot, Megger, AMP meter, brush recorders) commonly used by the craft. The Journeyman in Training (Electrical) will be required to meet all requirements of the Journeyman in Training (JIT) Program within eighteen months of date of hire.
