Westinghouse is currently seeking a highly skilled Principal Systems Engineer to lead the integration of advanced instrumentation and control systems across large-scale plant technology projects. This 12-month contract role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge systems in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment. You'll play a key role in ensuring technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and seamless coordination across engineering teams and subsystems. As a senior technical contributor, you'll drive system architecture alignment, manage interface control, and oversee validation activities throughout the system lifecycle.   • Develop and maintain system integration plans for I&C systems.
  • Coordinate interface control between subsystems and overall system architecture.
  • Lead design integration reviews to ensure alignment with engineering standards and project requirements.
  • Oversee acceptance testing and pre-operational validation activities.
  • Resolve complex integration issues across all phases of the system lifecycle.
  • Implement a Requirements Management Plan to ensure traceability from stakeholder needs to design and verification evidence.
  • Maintain a requirements traceability matrix using tools such as IBM DOORS or equivalent.
  • Validate that all system requirements meet functional, safety, and cybersecurity criteria.
  • Establish and enforce a Configuration Management Plan.
  • Maintain consistency across design documentation, diagrams, and software baselines.
  • Conduct configuration audits and manage change requests under formal change control processes.
  • Support documentation for regulatory reviews, certifications, and audits.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or other STEM degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering and 5 years of experience in systems engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering standards and quality frameworks.
  • Proficiency in Requirements Management tools (e.g., DOORS, Polarion) and Configuration Management systems.
  • Experience with digital control systems and automation platforms.
