The I&C Electrical Engineering Manager will lead a team in the design, development, procurement, and testing of systems for a medical isotope production facility. This role is crucial for advancing the mission of developing life-saving isotopes for healthcare and clean energy solutions, focusing on robust control systems and state-of-the-art instruments.

  • Lead the team in developing control strategies, designing control system hardware/software, selecting instruments, and managing electrical power distribution.
  • Collaborate with procurement, vendors, and construction teams to procure, install, and test I&C/electrical equipment.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance of I&C/electrical licensing basis with the licensing team.
  • Focus on control systems design, cable routing, vendor/construction management, commissioning, turnover to operations, and operations support.
  • Hire, manage, review, and lead a team of skilled I&C/electrical engineers.
  • Oversee I&C/electrical schedule and budget with Project Management and Finance teams.
  • Lead interfaces between stakeholders and the I&C team.
  • Mentor engineers in technology, decision making, and ownership of I&C equipment.
  • Maintain group budget and schedule to predict milestones and resource loading.
  • Drive decisions on vendor requests, changes, and updates to equipment and programming.
  • Ensure the team is sufficiently staffed and skilled.
  • Oversee development of control systems (DCS, PLC, DAQ) by reviewing vendor deliverables.
  • Oversee installation of systems providing power to plant equipment.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to select instruments for process systems.
  • Update instrument specifications, calculations, and test plans for design, construction, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and operation.
  • Oversee design and implementation of instrument/electrical cable routing, conduit and raceway design, installation drawings, and loop diagrams.
  • Assist in commissioning, turnover to Operations, and subsequent support of I&C/Electrical systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, nuclear engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • Experience in Project Management, including creating schedules and budgets.
  • 10+ years of experience in instruments and controls.
  • Knowledge of electrical power distribution for commercial-level power systems.
  • Strong leadership skills to motivate, coach, and inspire a team.
  • Confidence to make technical decisions and delegate responsibilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize for company success.
  • Experience in personnel management.
  • Direct and respectful communication style.
  • Experience in a highly regulated environment, such as the nuclear power industry.
