About The Position

The position involves performing duties under the supervision of the Medical Director, Program Director, and/or Clinical Coordinator as appropriate for the program. The individual is responsible for the safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric chamber(s) and related support systems, as well as the day-to-day maintenance of these systems. The working hours are from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, five days a week.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or Certificate equivalent.
• Be actively certified and/or licensed in one of the following vocations: Respiratory Therapist, Corpsman (Military), Medical Services Specialist, EMT-Basic or Paramedic, Registered Nurse, LPN, or LVN, Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA), Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT), Physical Therapist, Physical Therapy Assistant, Nurse Practitioner.
• Successfully complete a DCS approved HBO Safety course.
• Must have completed a National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology approved hyperbaric medicine introductory course.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties and procedures as directed by Program Director, Medical Director, and in some cases the Clinical Coordinator.
• Perform hyperbaric chamber operations and system maintenance as required.
• Make appropriate entries for daily hyperbaric treatments and wound care clinic visits including photo uploading.
• Assume responsibility for the safe and effective operation and maintenance of the hyperbaric chamber(s) and related systems and ancillary components.
• Provide leadership and safety training to other hyperbaric facility personnel.
• Maintain all facility safety-related standards as required by various licensing and regulatory agencies.
• Ensure department compliance with NFPA 99, Hyperbaric Facilities (current edition) and with unit safety policies and procedures.
