About The Position

Position Overview Department: Wound Care / Hyperbarics Schedule: Part-Time, Day Shift Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's St. Clair- Wound Care/Hyperbarics Center Benefits for eligible positions only include: generous paid time off, paid parental leave, Associate Assistance Program, Tuition Reimbursement Program, and more What You Will Do Administer hyperbaric treatments to patients under the supervision of a physician. Operate and maintain hyperbaric chamber and associated systems and equipment as prescribed by a hyperbaric physician and under supervision of program director or clinical coordinator. Monitor patients in the chamber and record patient condition. Ensure patient comfort and report any unusual occurrences. Maintain operating, maintenance and safety logs on hyperbaric equipment. Keep patient treatment records and collect data as required.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Emergency Medical Tech preferred.
  • One or more of the following required within twelve (12) months from hire or transfer date: Hyperbaric Tech certification. Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from the Alabama Department of Public Health. Practical/Vocational Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing. Nurse Aide credentialed from the Alabama Nurse Aide Registry.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

  • Emergency Medical Tech preferred.
