Job Summary The HBOT Technician provides direct support to wound care and rehabilitation services, with responsibility for patient management during hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) treatments. This role also includes performing vital signs monitoring, assisting with wound care, completing secretarial/registration tasks, and ensuring a safe HBOT environment in compliance with all safety regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of healthcare experience.
  • BLS certification.
  • Completion of an approved Hyperbaric Medicine course within 3 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous HBOT experience.
  • Background as an RN, LPN, RRT/CRT, EMT, Paramedic, Certified Hyperbaric Tech, or Diving Medical Technician.
  • Strong medical terminology, computer, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor patients receiving HBOT treatments.
  • Assist the HBOT physician with evaluations, patient histories, and consent documentation.
  • Orient patients to HBOT procedures, explain risks/benefits, and provide education.
  • Prepare, clean, and maintain HBOT chambers per safety and regulatory standards.
  • Schedule, register, and coordinate appointments across rehab and wound care services.
  • Perform accurate and timely charge entry and billing reconciliation.
  • Monitor vital signs, perform glucose checks, and provide basic patient care support.
  • Document patient care activities and maintain medical records in compliance with policy.
  • Support quality improvement activities, safety drills, and ongoing staff education.
