About The Position

The Clorox Company Internship Program is a 10-week summer experience that runs from June through August. Interns are provided meaningful work assignments designed to provide perspective and practical work experience highlighting what you would do in a similar role following completion of your degree and working at the company on a regular, full-time basis. The HyperAutomation Engineer Intern will join the Enterprise Architecture team, partnering closely with Solution Architects, Product Owners, and business stakeholders across the enterprise to design and deploy next-generation automations. This role sits at the intersection of business operations, AI, and automation, giving the intern exposure to how intelligent digital workers are transforming how Clorox operates at scale. The position is highly impactful, helping accelerate IGNITE by driving efficiency, improving data quality, and enabling teams to work faster and smarter through automation.

Requirements

  • 0–1 years of hands-on experience in software development, automation, data engineering, or technical problem-solving through coursework, internships, or personal projects
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex processes into logical, actionable workflow steps
  • Familiarity with UiPath or similar RPA platforms (e.g., Power Automate, Automation Anywhere)
  • Basic understanding of prompt engineering, AI agents, or vector databases
  • Experience working with APIs, JSON, and system integrations
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, C#, JavaScript, Visual Basic, or Java
  • Strong communication skills, curiosity, and the ability to learn quickly
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related STEM field (rising senior undergraduate or graduate student preferred)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AI/ML concepts, LLMs, or chatbot frameworks
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
  • Familiarity with databases (SQL or NoSQL)
  • Prior internship, hackathon, or project experience building automation or integration solutions

Responsibilities

  • Design and build Automations Develop intelligent automation workflows using UiPath Translate business requirements into end-to-end automated solutions Leverage APIs, data sources, and AI services to enable autonomous decision-making
  • Identify and evaluate automation opportunities Analyze business processes to uncover inefficiencies and automation potential Partner with business users to document current-state and future-state workflows
  • Test, debug, and optimize automation solutions Perform functional and regression testing to ensure accuracy and reliability Troubleshoot failures, performance issues, and data inconsistencies Continuously improve automation performance, stability, and scalability
  • Create and maintain technical documentation Document automation logic, data flows, and system integrations Ensure knowledge transfer so solutions can be maintained and enhanced by the broader team
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders Work alongside Solution Architects, developers, and business partners Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes in a clear and professional manner
