About The Position

The Hydrovac & Jetter Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating Hydrovac and high‑pressure Jetter trucks to perform excavation, daylighting, potholing, utility exposure, and sewer line cleaning. This role supports a variety of underground utility and sitework projects. The ideal candidate is safety‑focused, self‑motivated, and experienced with vacuum excavation and/or jetting equipment.

Requirements

  • Valid CDL Class A or B with air brakes and tanker endorsement required.
  • At least 2+ years of experience operating Hydrovac or Jetter trucks.
  • Strong understanding of underground utilities and excavation safety.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and ability to lift 50+ pounds.
  • Must pass pre‑employment screenings, including drug/alcohol testing.
  • Ability to work extended hours, nights, or weekends as project needs require.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Hydrovac and Jetter trucks to perform non-destructive excavation and sewer line jetting.
  • Safely expose underground utilities including water, sewer, electric, gas, and fiber lines.
  • Perform sewer line cleaning, blockage removal, and debris extraction using high‑pressure jetting equipment.
  • Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Follow all safety procedures, traffic control requirements, and company policies.
  • Assist with basic maintenance and troubleshooting of Hydrovac and Jetter equipment.
  • Communicate with project managers, foremen, and crew members to complete daily work tasks.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment, hoses, nozzles, and work area.
  • Represent ESS professionally while interacting with clients, inspectors, and the public.
