About The Position

The Hydrovac Operator position is a full-time role that involves operating a hydrovac truck and performing various tasks related to underground utility construction and installation. The operator is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the truck, reporting any safety deficiencies, and ensuring timely attendance at work. The role requires a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to work well with others. Operators must demonstrate proficiency in equipment operation, troubleshooting, and minor repairs, as well as adhere to industry standards and regulations.

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience as a Hydrovac Operator
  • 2 years of commercial driving experience
  • CDL Class A or B with Tanker endorsement required
  • Ability to complete a post-offer/pre-employment drug screen, background check, and physical
  • Meet all physical requirements of the job
  • Ability to walk, bend, stoop, climb, and perform tasks requiring physical agility and manual dexterity
  • Maintain acceptable personal hygiene and professional appearance
  • Pass safety screening for fit tests and pulmonary test
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have own housing
  • Reliable transportation
  • Attend all safety meetings unless approved otherwise by Manager
  • Report to work as scheduled
  • Adhere to all DOT, Federal, State, Local, and company Health, Safety Environmental rules and regulations

Responsibilities

  • Keep the truck clean and organized
  • Report any equipment safety deficiencies
  • Be on time and ready to work when scheduled
  • Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Work well with others
  • Knowledge of Underground Utility construction and installation
  • Working knowledge of 811 National Call before you dig principles and requirements
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs to equipment if needed
  • Expose and excavate underground utilities according to industry standards
  • Proficiently operate, inspect, and maintain equipment
  • Complete selected required Operator Qualifications (OQ’s)
  • Lead and direct subordinate personnel in a safe and efficient manner
