About The Position
Badger Daylighting, a leader in the hydro-excavation industry and North America's largest provider of non-destructive excavating services, is seeking experienced Hydrovac Operators to join our team in Portland, ME. As a Hydrovac Operator, you will be responsible for operating our custom and purpose-built commercial Hydrovac trucks, which are designed and manufactured by Badger. This role requires a commitment to safety and professionalism, as you will be expected to attend safety meetings and ensure that all tasks are completed in a safe manner. The position involves variable hours, averaging between 30-70 hours weekly, depending on the season, with the possibility of working weekends and extended hours as needed. In this role, you will be tasked with the successful completion of hydro excavation projects, which include utility line exposure, debris removal, trenching, and digging. You will utilize a high-pressure wand to loosen soil and a vacuum system to remove debris. Effective communication and a strong customer service focus are essential, as you will interact with clients and team members regularly. Additionally, you will be responsible for troubleshooting minor mechanical issues and performing minor repairs to the equipment as necessary. Proper documentation of all Badger, Federal, State, and Customer paperwork is required, ensuring compliance with established policies and legal requirements. Candidates must possess a minimum CDL A or B license with an acceptable driving record, and experience driving a manual transmission is preferred. Safety certifications such as OSHA10, First Aid/CPR, and others are preferred but not mandatory.
