About The Position

We are seeking a Hydrogeologist to help us shape the future. In this role, you will work with hydrogeological modeling software, provide expertise on permitting processes and have the opportunity to lead environmental analyses that support nuclear environmental licensing projects nationwide. This exciting and impactful role can be based in one of our offices located in Kennesaw, GA; Oklahoma City, OK; Naperville, IL; Overland Park, KS; or Dallas, TX.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Hydrogeology or Geology AND a minimum of 1 year post graduation of hydrogeology experience.
  • Proficiency in hydrogeologic principles to include characterization, assessments, monitoring.
  • Experience with field instrumentation and techniques for groundwater sampling and monitoring.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes related to groundwater.
  • Excellent writing, communication, strategic thinking, and 'people' skills.
  • Ability to travel between 5%-10% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on client needs, ranging up to a few days.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and conduct field investigations to characterize hydrogeologic systems and evaluate groundwater flow conditions.
  • Collect and evaluate site-specific groundwater data to characterize groundwater flow patterns, evaluate the extent of possible groundwater impacts, and identify any possible receptors.
  • Perform and interpret aquifer tests to measure hydraulic properties.
  • Evaluate the potential impacts of development and land use changes on groundwater resources.
  • Develop remediation plans for contaminated groundwater sites.
  • Monitor remediation activities and assess their effectiveness over time.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to groundwater management, water quality protection, and environmental permitting.
  • Help prepare permit applications and environmental impact assessments as required.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports and presentations summarizing findings from hydrogeological studies and investigations.
  • Communicate complex scientific concepts to clients and regulatory agencies in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Manage hydrogeological projects from start to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and coordination of fieldwork and laboratory testing activities.
