About The Position

Develops controls for routine, complex or highly complex projects, maintenance and operational support of power generating, water storage, and water conveyance assets. This work includes RTU, PLC, and HMI development and programming, field support of maintenance and construction personnel and commissioning activities, which may include system documentation and drawing development. Responsibilities may include an understanding of computer networking and cybersecurity requirements for the Hydro control systems and to ensure designs and equipment comply with NERC CIP. This role is hybrid with weekly office visits expected. PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​ A reasonable salary range is:​ California Minimum: $​88,000 California Mid: $110,000 California Maximum: $132,000

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering-Electrical or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Job-related experience, 1 year

Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance to hydro modernization standards within daily work and project requirements.
  • Review and provide feedback on designs, design reviews, calculations, perform calculations and develop engineering, construction and related documentation.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to cross-functional teams, including maintenance and operations personnel, by collaborating on the investigation, troubleshooting, and resolution of equipment and system issues.
  • Offer subject matter expertise to ensure effective problem-solving and continuous improvement across operational processes.
  • Manage routine lifecycle projects controlling design scope and meeting design schedule.
  • Perform on-site commissioning and start up activities for assigned projects.
  • With assistance, program PLCs, RTUs and HMIs for power generating assets.
  • Develop and execute functional checkout procedures.
  • Develop control circuit diagrams, schematics, and documentation.
