A Hydro Maintenance Mechanic 2 assists in ensuring continuous generation availability and regulatory compliance by operating, inspecting and maintaining hydro turbines, generators, buildings and grounds, dams and auxiliary equipment.
Responsibilities
Ensure safe work methods
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment
Operate hydro-electric facilities safely and efficiently
Maintain plant systems, equipment, and surrounding area in clean, safe and efficient condition
Complete necessary documents
Conduct inspections of turbines, generators, and auxiliary equipment
Participate in major overhauls of turbines, generators, and auxiliary equipment
Assist in installing changes to plant equipment
Maintain hydro turbine and plant buildings and grounds in clean, safe condition
Perform required maintenance on dams and dikes
Participate in training programs to advance knowledge and skill level
Assist and work with vendors and contractors in installation and repair of equipment and systems
Provide relief for other positions as required and work without assistance in job areas where sufficient knowledge and training are present
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
3 years industrial mechanical maintenance experience as a mechanic
Valid Driver's License
Valid CDL or ability to obtain one within 18 months
Must be able to obtain forklift and lift truck certification
This position has a 60 minute residency requirement
