About The Position

Roto-Rooter Services Company has an exciting opening for a water-jetting expert to service commercial and residential customers for our East Bay branch located in Livermore, CA. Founded in 1935, Roto-Rooter is North America's largest plumbing, drain cleaning, and water cleanup services provider, operating businesses in over 100 company-owned branches, independent contractor territories, and approximately 400 independent franchise operations, serving approximately 90% of the U.S. population and parts of Canada. The average wage range for an experienced Hydro Jetting Technician is $75,000 to $95,000. Service technicians are paid an hourly rate of $17.00 to $24.00 during training. After training, they are paid an hourly rate at or above the minimum wage for all hours worked. The hourly pay rate may vary, depending on whether the pay is for base pay paid at the employee’s base hourly rate (minimum wage), or administrative pay for administrative hours worked (between minimum wage and $77.92). Service technicians also have the potential to earn commissions at the rate of 16-22% of revenue depending on the revenue category. Commissions ranging from $10 to $139 can also be earned for selling products and treatments.

Requirements

• For branches using a pull-behind jet machine, a DOT license will be required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to speak and write in English.
• Valid driver's license.
• Great people skills, proven sales experience, mechanically inclined, and a proven problem solver.
• Ability to grasp, push, and pull hose, squat, bend, and twist to safely and effectively operate the water jetting system.
• Manual dexterity to use basic tools such as screwdriver, wrench, and hammer.

Responsibilities

• Service current customers to resolve challenging drain cleaning and preventive maintenance issues using high pressure water jetting equipment.
• Perform line locating, provide repair estimates, and execute the service.
• Build the commercial customer base by visiting target customers to offer preventative maintenance agreements.
• Drive truck and control movement and operation of water jetting system.
• Document and compute weekly receipts, invoices, and expenses with branch accounting personnel.
• Maintain truck by recharging batteries, filling fuel tank, and cleaning vehicle parts and equipment.
