About The Position

Clearsite Industrial Services is expanding and seeking professional Hydrovac Operators to join our business in Richmond, VA. Hydrovac Excavation is a non-destructive method of excavating as an alternative to mechanical equipment or hand-digging. Hydrovacs use pressurized water and a vacuum system to quickly, safely, precisely and cleanly excavate around utilities, pipelines and numerous other applications.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum Class 'B' CDL license with tanker endorsement and a clean driving record.
• Minimum of 1 year driving experience with CDL.
• Must possess a current and valid DOT medical certificate.
• OSHA10 safety card certification is required.
• Clean MVR (2 or less traffic violations in current 3 year period).
• Safety mindedness is essential.
• Must be able to hear and distinguish emergency signals and instructions while on duty.
• Must be able to repetitively sit, lift, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, reach and crawl.
• Must be able to repeatedly lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work in all outdoor elements for extended periods of time.
• Confined Space Entry may be required.
• Must be able to climb ladders and work from stationary platforms at elevated heights.
• Must be capable of working extended hours and variable shifts.

Nice To Haves

• Underground utility experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate the on-board hydro-vacuum system outside the truck performing non-destructive excavation around sensitive underground piping and cables.
• Perform cleaning and vacuuming, mobilization of equipment, truck maintenance, and attend safety meetings.
• Heavy lifting at times is required.
• Working at heights may be required.
• Work typical construction hours, with some weeks being less than 40 hours and others requiring 50 plus hours.
• Document all Company, Federal, State, and Customer documentation/paperwork as required by law and established policy.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with on-site customer representatives.
• Lead and direct subordinate personnel to perform duties/tasks safely and efficiently.
• Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs to equipment as needed.
