In this role, you will build skills in innovative modeling tools with a wide range of applicability across multiple types of planning and analysis applications in bridge scour evaluations, wastewater, and water distribution. You will collaborate in an open, flexible, and friendly work environment. The ideal candidate can contribute to the development of design plans and specifications for bridge hydraulic and scour mitigation, coastal design, utility master plans, delivery of on-call requests, technical analysis of collection systems, and support of preliminary and post-design services, among others. There will be the opportunity for creative problem-solving customized 2D and 3D modeling programs, HECRAS modeling, python scripting, GIS application, and specialized tool development.

  • Analyzing rainfall, flow, and operational data for trends and applicability in modeling.
  • Performing hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for model development, calibration, scenario planning and options analysis, and technical planning.
  • Managing tasks and working with small multidisciplinary technical teams.
  • Working directly with public works staff and delivering exceptional client service.
  • Writing technical memorandums, engineering reports, and planning studies.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited school.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in bridge scour evaluations, water distribution and/or sewer collection system modeling.
  • Strong background in closed conduit, open channel hydraulics, and pump station operations.
  • Background in analyzing flow monitoring and rainfall data.
  • Proven technical report writing skills.
  • Proficient with Modeling software similar to HECRAS, GEO-HECRAS
  • Assist with NEPA document preparation.
  • Abilty to utilize GIS for anaylsis, model integration, and figure generation.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a level of attention to detail.
