Opportunity: Hydraulic Engineer II About You Creative and innovative Problem solving/analysis Strong attention to detail Organized Strong, transparent communicator Team player Positive and respectful attitude Results oriented Quality driven Self-motivated What You`ll Be Doing Hydraulic Engineers are responsible for designing, analyzing, and implementing hydraulic systems and powered motion solutions for a variety of industrial machinery. This role includes developing hydraulic schematics, selecting and specifying components, creating and maintaining 3D models and manufacturing drawings, and documenting hydraulic designs of normal to increasing complexity. Work is performed with moderate to light supervision. Must be comfortable working with production team members to implement their designs Structural/ Support Structures Design weldments and sub-structures to support hydraulic systems and components Apply proven structural and manufacturing principles with consideration for cost, schedule, and manufacturability Create and maintain manufacturing drawings for weldments and machined components Demonstrate a working understanding of machining processes and tolerancing requirements Perform basic FEA setup and interpret results to validate designs Generate bills of material (BOMs) and upload to the ERP system Hydraulic Design simple to increasingly complex hydraulic circuits using current fluid power principles Create hydraulic/pneumatic schematics for these circuits and be able to implement them into the mechanical design of the machine. Select appropriate pumps, fittings, hoses, valve bodies, etc. based on application and availability Generate bill of material (BOM) and upload to ERP system GD&T Understand different dimensioning and tolerancing methods on prints Interpret tolerance stack-ups and effects Understand and minimize cost implications of tolerance and machining methods Design Review Proof designs created by less experienced engineers or in peer review Receive and incorporate feedback in designs based on peer review Participate in design review meetings, drill downs, etc. Make sure all criteria are met by comparing specifications and quotes to design Be able to troubleshoot hydraulic systems during startup with a Controls Engineer Communication Work with production leads during start-up of new projects Keep management informed of project progress Work to meet milestone deadlines Work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines Effectively participate in meetings with customers Work collaboratively with non-engineering departments (Purchasing, Sales, Estimating, Service, Production) Develop mentoring skills to help promote and grow knowledge and skill sets within the engineering team. Communicate effectively with vendors to solve problems and improve designs as required. Support Service team with warranty and non-warranty troubleshooting as required
