GFT is seeking a Hydraulic Designer to join our Geotechnical Dams & Hydraulics Team in Jacksonville, FL! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance to our office. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • 0- 1 years of relevant experience
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification
  • Experience with GIS applications and computer programming, in addition to computer software experience such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SITES, two and three-dimensional water resources software and modeling programs, and Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • Masters’ Degree with emphasis in water resources and dam engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Hydrologic Modeling: Use GIS and other software to evaluate watersheds, develop hydrologic parameters. Use hydrologic modeling software to model rainfall and runoff.
  • Hydraulic Modeling: Use software to evaluate 1D, 2D and 3D hydraulics of rivers and hydraulic structures.
  • Fieldwork: May involve performing site visits and collecting field data.
  • Engineering Calculations: Perform calculations related to the design of dams, waterways, and related structures.
  • Design and Documentation: Assist in creating design documents like drawings, specifications, material quantities, cost estimates, and calculations.
  • Cost Estimation: Gathers and records data for project cost estimates.
  • Technical Reports: Prepares technical reports or contributes to broader reports on engineering studies.
  • Teamwork: Support senior engineers and engage with team to deliver project.
