About The Position

This is a full-time on-site role as a Hydraulic Cylinder Repair Mechanic at Central Hydraulics’ location in Daytona Beach, FL. The Hydraulic Cylinder Repair Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding, and testing hydraulic cylinders used in industrial, mobile, and heavy equipment applications. This position ensures all repaired cylinders meet OEM specifications, safety requirements, and performance standards. The position is based in a warehouse/production type environment. Candidate must be comfortable working in a warehouse environment, which may be cool in the winter and hot in the summer.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (technical training preferred)
  • 2–5 years of experience in hydraulic cylinder repair or hydraulic systems maintenance
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic principles and components
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical specifications
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, bore gauges, calipers)
  • Physical ability to lift heavy components and perform repetitive tasks
  • Verifies specifications by measuring completed component with tools such as a manual tape measure, calipers, micrometers, cutting tools, automated machinery and sharp objects.

Nice To Haves

  • Warehouse and inventory experience preferred
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing, construction, or assembly role of hydraulic hoses and fittings is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble and inspect hydraulic cylinders to identify wear, damage, and failure causes
  • Measure components and determine repair or replacement requirements
  • Replace seals, bearings, rods, pistons, tubes, and other cylinder components
  • Hone and polish cylinder barrels and rods
  • Perform precision assembly of hydraulic cylinders to specified tolerances
  • Conduct pressure, leakage, and functional testing on rebuilt cylinders
  • Operate shop equipment such as honing machines, presses, and torque tools
  • Maintain detailed repair records and quality documentation
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and quality control procedures
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
