The Hydrator Operator position at MLC involves operating computer-controlled hydration systems and related equipment to ensure product quality and efficient operation. The operator will be responsible for performing various lab tests to maintain product standards, loading products for customer shipment, and ensuring the quality of incoming raw materials. The role requires troubleshooting processes and equipment to enhance efficiency and product quality, as well as maintaining plant equipment to ensure smooth operations. The operator will also be expected to work the midnight swing shift, which consists of three days one week and four days the next, and must be willing to work overtime and respond to call-ins as needed. In this role, adherence to safety policies and procedures is paramount. The operator will participate in safety training meetings and ensure that all operations comply with environmental regulations, particularly concerning stormwater and air emissions. The position also involves maintaining high standards of housekeeping in all plant areas and performing preventive maintenance, cleaning, troubleshooting, and repair work on equipment. The operator will function as a bulk loader for transferring products to customers via rail or truck and will be responsible for maintaining raw materials and supplies inventory, including coordinating the receipt and ordering of materials. Additionally, the Hydrator Operator will generate Bills of Lading (BOLs) and maintain shipping records, write and adhere to process procedures and work instructions, and develop a working knowledge of the computer control system to facilitate remote changes and troubleshooting. The role requires strong communication skills to build and maintain relationships with off-site company personnel and to interact with customers, vendors, and contractors effectively.
