This Enterprise Operations (EO) position supports the Lockheed Martin Space division and will be located Onsite in Littleton, CO. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing support to the critical Programs that the Special Programs Division are responsible for. This Systems Engineer Senior - IT role is a Hybrid Systems Administration role, and will provide progressive experience in managing complex hybrid IT environments, with a strong emphasis on supporting security tools and navigating intricate projects across multiple classified domains. The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert responsible for ensuring the continuous compliance, security, and optimal functionality of our vital information systems. This includes the expert-level installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows and Linux environments, database deployments, and application tools. In this position the chosen candidate will perform collaboration with internal and external customers, team members, vendors, and end-users. As a Hybrid Administrator, the candidate will play a significant role in planning and leading the coordination of COTS software and hardware upgrades and the strategic integration of new capabilities. Flexibility for periodic after-hours support and occasional non-standard work shifts is essential to support critical system testing, baseline promotions, and other mission-essential activities.

Responsibilities

  • Proficiently administer and proactively maintain complex hybrid Windows and Linux server environments across classified networks for optimal health, performance, and security.
  • Lead the implementation, configuration, advanced troubleshooting, and maintenance of security tools to enforce robust security and achieve stringent compliance within classified environments.
  • Skillfully install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot diverse database systems and critical applications, ensuring data integrity, availability, and stringent security.
  • Strategically plan, expertly coordinate, and lead complex COTS upgrades and integrations in collaboration with teams and vendors to meet milestones and minimize impact.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce security policies and procedures to ensure continuous compliance within classified environments, leading audits and complex remediation.
  • Serve as a senior technical leader and escalation point, providing expert support and fostering collaboration to resolve intricate issues and ensure secure system operations.

Requirements

  • Requires an active TS/SCI clearance prior to commencing employment.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting and managing security tools and technologies within classified environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of both Windows Server and various Linux distributions (e.g., Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS).
  • Experience with database administration and management (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
  • Understanding of application deployment and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with patch management, system hardening, and security best practices.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation tasks.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and document work effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Active CI Poly or ability to obtain a CI Poly.
  • Knowledge of endpoint security, vulnerability remediation, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and compliance software (e.g., McAfee ePO, Nessus).
  • Experience working with classified customer communities.
  • Proven ability to coordinate effectively across IT and business functional organizations.
  • Experience interacting with key stakeholders across multiple organizations.
  • Strong relationship-building acumen.
  • Experience creating and maintaining Service Central forms and workflow solutions.
  • Strong planning, communication, presentation, listening, and influencing skills.
