About The Position

Join Baylor Heart and Vascular Hospital (BHVH) Dallas as a Registered Nurse within the Scheduling Department and be part of something better! BHVH Scheduling Department is a fast-paced environment that coordinates complex care to meet the needs of heart and vascular patients in Dallas, Fort Worth, and Waxahachie. Are you looking to increase your knowledge base? Our BHVH Scheduling Department leadership team fosters an environment that supports learning, mentoring, and developing every team member. The position is part-time with flexible scheduling, requiring 24 hours or three 8-hour shifts per week from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Orientation lasts approximately 4-8 weeks and is onsite at BHVH Dallas. The BHVH Scheduling team schedules and coordinates cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, and surgical procedures at BHVH Dallas, Fort Worth, and Waxahachie, as well as non-invasive cardiology services and advanced cardiac imaging. The average scheduling is around 60 calls a day in a call center setting. Department hours are Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. This is a hybrid role with around 10% being onsite at BHVH Dallas. **This is NOT a remote role.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current RN (Registered Nurse) license.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Minimum 3 years total RN experience.
  • At least 2 years of recent, direct Cardiac and/or Vascular RN experience, which may include Telemetry, Stepdown/Progressive Care, or Critical Care.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and time management skills.
  • Technology proficiency required; must be comfortable using computers and telehealth platforms.
  • Ability to manage a high call volume (average ~60 calls/day) with professionalism and accuracy.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous call center or telehealth experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee patient care using a professional practice model.
  • Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs.
  • Create, implement, and evaluate care plans.
  • Adjust care plans to reach desired outcomes.
  • Build relationships and manage discomfort with patients and families.
  • Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members.
  • Assess and document learning needs regularly.
  • Work with colleagues and community to create a care plan.
  • Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.
  • Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.
  • Achieve goals through teamwork and recognize contributions.
