About The Position

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • A minimum of 4 years of recent professional experience preparing/auditing federal and state tax returns for individuals and entities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and electronic tax research.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to set and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects effectively.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA, JD, or Enrolled Agent designation.
  • Experience writing technical tax-related content.
  • Experience editing materials written by others.
  • Familiarity with Illinois Tax School seminars.
  • Experience developing and/or teaching self-study courses, webinars, or seminars.

Responsibilities

  • Develop tax-related content for educational offerings, including the Federal Tax Workbook, seminars, webinars, and self-study courses.
  • Author professional tax education content and stay updated on new tax laws.
  • Research emerging issues in taxation and write topic-specific content.
  • Conduct technical reviews and editing of content developed by others to ensure accuracy.
  • Write articles for the Tax School blog.
  • Collaborate with the editorial team to ensure smooth operation during workbook production, including proofreading and editing.
  • Identify and select content authors and reviewers in collaboration with the editorial team.
  • Attend meetings related to workbook content development and contribute ideas.
