Overview: We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and dependable Medical Scribe to join our team at a leading Behavioral Health Hospital in Belton, TX. This hybrid role combines in-person clinical documentation support in the mornings with administrative support responsibilities in the afternoons. The position plays a critical role in supporting clinical providers, improving workflow efficiency, and ensuring accurate and timely medical records and administrative operations. Position Structure: AM ( In-Person | Belton, TX): Medical scribe support for clinical providers PM: (Virtual) Administrative support duties, as outlined below This position reports to the Human Resources Director

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in healthcare, psychology, or a related field preferred.
  • Prior experience as a medical scribe or in a medical or behavioral health setting is required.
  • Must be able to report, in-person, to facility located in Belton, TX. This is REQUIRED.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and psychiatric diagnoses preferred.
  • Proficiency with typing and navigating EMR systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Zoom Business, Google Suite, Microsoft Office
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in a fast-paced, confidential healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately and efficiently document patient encounters in real time, including psychiatric assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Enter documentation directly into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system under the supervision of licensed providers.
  • Review and organize patient charts before and after visits to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Assist with tracking and entering orders, test results, and other relevant clinical data.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Provide administrative support including, but not limited to, credentialing coordination, scheduling, and answering phones.
  • Assist with general office and operational tasks to support clinical and administrative workflows.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams to ensure timely follow-up and task completion.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
