About The Position

The CDL Driver/Material Handler supports warehouse operations by safely moving trailers, loading and unloading materials, and maintaining an efficient workflow. Key duties include operating tractor‑trailers and docks, performing receiving tasks, and following all company safety, GMP, and HACCP policies. The role requires a valid Class A CDL and completion of DOT‑required inspections, along with daily equipment safety checks and prompt reporting of any issues. This position requires strong problem‑solving abilities, basic math and language skills, and the ability to operate forklifts and material‑handling equipment. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, along with two years of CDL driving experience. The role involves physical demands such as lifting up to 50 pounds and working around moving machinery while wearing required PPE. Work occurs in warehouse and outdoor environments with exposure to noise, weather conditions, and shifting priorities. Accountabilities: Safe Vehicle Operation: Responsible for safely operating tractor/trailer equipment, performing daily safety inspections, completing DOT‑required documentation, and reporting mechanical or safety issues promptly. Efficient Trailer and Material Movement: Accountable for moving trailers in the yard and at docks, loading and unloading trailers, and maintaining an organized workflow to support warehouse operations. Receiving and Material Handling: Ensures accurate receiving of raw materials and performs picking, dock, and receiving responsibilities while operating forklifts and material‑handling equipment safely. Compliance With Safety, GMP, and HACCP Policies: Adheres to all company safety standards, uses required PPE, and maintains high awareness when working around moving machinery or electrical equipment. Documentation and Communication: Completes necessary reports, inspections, and routine written communication accurately and clearly; communicates effectively with coworkers and supervisors.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must Have a valid Class A CDL
  • Knowledge of receiving processes.
  • Knowledge of safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedural manuals, and orders.
  • Skill in operating tractor/trailer and dock equipment.
  • Skill in operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
  • Ability to write legibly to complete inspections and prepare routine reports.
  • Mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions, procedure manuals, and order forms.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule-based instructions.
  • Ability to speak effectively with coworkers, supervisors and managers, or others within the facility.
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving behavior when performing daily tasks, resolving operational issues, and supporting warehouse flow.
  • Acts with safety awareness and responsbility, consistently following company safety policies, using required PPE, and maintaining vigilance when working around moving machinery or equipment.
