About The Position

Atrium Health is seeking a Gastroenterology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for their Shelby, NC location. The position is 100% Adult medicine and is a hybrid role. During Inpatient Week, the APP will be responsible for all new consults and rounding, with an inpatient census averaging 10-15 patients daily. During Outpatient Week, the APP will be responsible for clinic duties Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 4 PM, with an outpatient census averaging 14 patients daily and one half-day of administrative time. The practice consists of three physicians and four APPs, and there is a nightly phone call rotation required, averaging every 5th week, with additional compensation for night call.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of Gastroenterology experience preferred.
• Experience with PEG tube insertions and exchanges preferred.
• Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required.
• Master's Degree preferred for Physician Assistants.
• Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants required.
• Master's Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required for Acute Care Nurse Practitioners.
• License to practice as a Registered Nurse required.
• Certification in the area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body is required.
• Acute Care board certification required based upon population and acuity served.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all new consults and rounding during Inpatient Week.
• Manage an inpatient census averaging 10-15 patients daily.
• Responsible for clinic duties during Outpatient Week, Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 4 PM.
• Manage an outpatient census averaging 14 patients daily.
• Participate in one half-day of administrative time during Outpatient Week.
• Participate in a nightly phone call rotation, averaging every 5th week.
