About The Position

The HW Commodity Specialist II at Amazon.com Services LLC is responsible for managing supply or purchasing activities, which may include managing supplier relationships and performance, resolving vendor issues, and tracking, analyzing, and reconciling purchase orders and requisitions. The role involves engaging in forecasting, demand planning, material/supply/inventory planning, and/or capacity planning to deliver supply globally with a high degree of predictability. Additionally, the specialist will manage supply buffers and allocation to shorten lead times and build resiliency into the supply chain without driving excess. Analyzing industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify supply base opportunities to minimize risk and protect continuity of supply is also a key responsibility. The position requires defining performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of supply chain factors, such as product cost or quality, and implementing new or improved supply chain processes to enhance efficiency or performance. Domestic travel up to 10% may be required to perform role responsibilities.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related field.
  • 3 years of experience in job offered or a supply chain management related occupation.
  • 3 years of experience in negotiating costs, managing production, and clear-to-build processes.
  • 2 years of experience managing EMS Providers.
  • 2 years of experience in supply chain software and tools, such as ERP systems and data analytics tools.
