The HVACR Technician is responsible for performing all repair and maintenance duties necessary for all heating, ventilation, air conditioning, water coolers, condensers, refrigeration equipment, freezers, and other equipment utilizing refrigeration principles to ensure they are in functional and satisfactory operating condition. This role involves maintaining and repairing equipment using refrigerants for heating/cooling, calibrating and repairing automatic temperature controls, and installing minor additions to duct work. The technician will also maintain and repair various refrigeration units like refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, ice machines, heat pumps, air dryers, and chillers. Responsibilities extend to maintaining, calibrating, and repairing electrical and pneumatic components related to HVAC and refrigeration equipment, including control panels, pneumatic controls for air handlers, thermostats, reheats, and mixing boxes. The position also requires adding or replacing grills, registers, volume dampers, and flex collars, mounting and repairing safety equipment such as freeze stats and fire dampers, observing sanitation, safety, and housekeeping regulations, and performing air balance tests, additions, and modifications to air supply and exhaust systems. The technician is expected to cooperate in department's work improvement efforts and practice excellent customer service.
