About The Position

The HVAC technician will be responsible for installing HVAC systems, including compressors, motors, piping, ducts, and related components according to blueprints and specifications. The role involves performing routine maintenance, inspections, and emergency repairs on heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. The technician will diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in HVAC equipment and execute appropriate repairs or replacements. Testing HVAC systems for refrigerant leaks, pressure, temperature, and overall performance is also a key responsibility. The technician will clean and adjust HVAC components such as blowers, coils, filters, and grills, while maintaining accurate records of work performed, materials used, and service reports. Compliance with safety standards, building codes, and manufacturer guidelines is essential. Effective communication with upper management, coworkers, and guests is required. The role may also include other duties such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, light electrical work, and snow removal.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • HVAC (S2) License.
  • 3 years of licensed experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with HVAC systems and components.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing HVAC equipment.
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy equipment and work in confined or uncomfortable spaces.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask and at times work under pressure.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to work flexible hours including nights/weekends and take emergency calls on a rotating schedule.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of refrigeration systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft suite, CMMS, and BAS systems.
  • Aerial/forklift, bobcat, and plowing experience a plus.
