About the position

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for welding and fabricating components for heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. This role requires expertise in welding techniques, blueprint reading and a strong understanding of HVAC system assembly. The HVAC Welder will work closely with other technicians and engineers to ensure the proper installation, maintenance and repair of HVAC systems.

Responsibilities

• Weld and fabricate various metal components for HVAC systems, including ductwork, pipes and fittings.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine welding specifications.
• Perform welding tasks using various techniques such as MIG, TIG and Stick welding.
• Cut, fit and assemble metal parts according to specifications.
• Inspect and test welded joints for strength and quality, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Install and repair HVAC systems, ensuring all components are securely welded and properly aligned.
• Maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
• Adhere to safety standards and protocols at all times, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring the work environment remains hazard-free.
• Collaborate with HVAC technicians and engineers to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used and time spent on each task.
• Stay updated on industry trends, best practices and new welding techniques.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (a relevant technical certification is preferred).
• Proven experience as an HVAC Welder or in a similar welding role, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
• Proficient in welding techniques, including MIG, TIG and Stick welding.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems and components, with the ability to work on both commercial and residential systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Physical stamina and strength to work in various conditions, including lifting heavy materials and standing for long periods.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (if required for job-related travel).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations in welding and HVAC work.
