The Impact You’ll Make in this Role As a HVAC/Utility Technician, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Diagnose, analyze, troubleshoot, service, and repair of HVAC/Utility and process support equipment. Perform preventative and repair maintenance on facilities and support equipment including but not limited to-high/low pressure steam, hot water boilers, pressure controls, pumps, refrigeration systems, and piping. Develop and implement maintenance procedures and techniques for a safe, reliable, and efficient operations of assets while supporting business goals and objectives. Contribute technical recommendations for the improvement or optimization of facility equipment and/or process equipment. Complete documentation of work using electronic logbook.

Requirements

  • Currently possess a two (2) year associates degree in a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Technology maintenance field OR be within 6 months of obtaining an Associate degree in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Technology (HVAC) maintenance field OR Possess a one-year technical diploma or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Technology (HVAC) maintenance field AND two (2) or more years HVAC maintenance experience in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Technology maintenance field.
  • Ability to handle a variety of refrigerants and obtain necessary EPA Universal certification for refrigerant handling.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
  • All US-based 3M full time employees will need to sign an employee agreement as a condition of employment with 3M. This agreement lays out key terms on using 3M Confidential Information and Trade Secrets. It also has provisions discussing conflicts of interest and how inventions are assigned.

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) years of experience in HVAC in a private, public, government or military environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting and performing repair-type maintenance on process controls and facility support equipment including but not limited to, PLC’s, AC/DC drives and motors, HVAC controls/controllers, and pneumatic or electric devices.
  • Possess working knowledge of pneumatics, electrical, and digital controls (DDC) associated with HVAC.
  • Possess Universal Refrigeration Certification Types I, II, and III.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse audience.

Responsibilities
