The position involves conducting preventive maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning, and general servicing of systems with a focus on customer satisfaction. The role requires a high level of technical competence and includes mentoring other technicians, providing solutions to building inefficiencies, and ensuring adherence to safety standards.

  • Conduct preventive maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning of systems.
  • Mentor control technicians, service technicians, and mechanical technicians.
  • Diagnose and repair complex control systems malfunctions.
  • Consult with customers and provide field proposals for retrofits and upgrades.
  • Manage assigned work to ensure professional execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate with customers regarding service provided and outstanding issues.
  • Provide safety leadership and instruction to technicians.
  • Compile job documentation and assist in the design and configuration of building control systems.
  • Select, order, and track delivery of materials for assigned projects.
  • Assist in performing site-specific training for owners/operators.
  • Minimum of six years of commercial controls troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry.
  • Vocational school program graduate or associate's degree in a technical field, or two years of experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to install and/or service electronic control systems and HVAC equipment.
  • Effective communication skills to represent Johnson Controls on customer sites.
  • Knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems, and other building subsystems.
