The position involves responsibility for the service and repair, design, configuration, and operation of complete HVAC building control systems and other low voltage control sub-systems. The role is accountable for the quality, timeliness, and efficiency of service and repair and designs, requiring the development of complex software programs and commissioning to ensure proper operations of the building control system. The position also includes providing detailed information and submittals to communicate design and operation to customers, consultants, sales and service teams, and subcontractors.

  • Responsible for the service & repair, design, configuration, and operation of HVAC building control systems and other low voltage control sub-systems.
  • Accountable for quality, timeliness, and efficiency of service & repair and designs.
  • Develop complex software programs, commissioning, and solving to ensure proper operations of the building control system.
  • Provide detailed information and submittals to communicate design and operation to customers, consultants, sales and service teams, and subcontractors.
  • Design, configure, and service technically complex building control systems for customer facilities.
  • Create flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of material, network layouts, schedules, and electrical schematics as required.
  • Develop and test software programs necessary to operate the system per customer facility requirements.
  • Coordinate and create necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals, services, and/or installation.
  • Select, order, and track the delivery of materials for assigned jobs.
  • Assist in the loading and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers as required.
  • Provide field change information to the team for the creation of as-built drawings and software.
  • Keep management and JCI contractor and customer informed of job progress and issues.
  • Assist in performing site-specific training for owner/operator on the total building control system.
  • Participate in coordination and release meetings with sales and service operations.
  • Perform value engineering to provide cost-effective results while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • May provide work direction to Service Controls Technician I and Senior I and Senior II Controls Technicians.
  • Adhere to safety standards with a high degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and/or minimum eight (8) years' experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the construction or service, or HVAC industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems, and other building subsystems.
  • Demonstrated experience in the integration of low voltage building sub-systems using various industry protocols (i.e., LON, BACnet, etc.).
  • Ability to relate technical knowledge to a non-technical audience.
  • Demonstrated advanced computer skills required, particularly computer-related drafting tools.
