The HVAC Technician is responsible for the operation and repair of the facility's HVAC systems to ensure safe and efficient operation. This role includes monitoring system performance, implementing preventive maintenance, and responding to alarms from building automation and life safety systems. Additionally, the technician will assist with event support tasks, including the installation and maintenance of event-related equipment, and will work closely with clients to ensure their needs are met during events.

  • Operate and perform repairs to the facility's HVAC systems.
  • Monitor operation of the HVAC systems, identifying potential problems and taking corrective action.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of preventive maintenance and standard operating procedures.
  • Work with GEM Energy to perform preventative maintenance repairs and routine operations.
  • Record and log all work performed, complete work order slips, and compile reports.
  • Respond to routine, precautionary, and emergency alarms from building automation and life safety systems.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of spare parts and supplies, prepare requisition forms, and pick up supplies from vendors.
  • Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Assist with set, service, and strike related tasks for event support.
  • Install audio and visual reinforcement equipment to meet client requirements.
  • Repair and maintain event-related equipment in conjunction with operations.
  • Operate motorized equipment as needed in accordance with industry standards.
  • Complete written documentation for event-related services and enter data in the maintenance computer.
  • Represent the facility in communicating building policies with clients regarding set-up and technical services.
  • Experience in HVAC system operation and repair.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to monitor and troubleshoot HVAC systems.
  • Experience with event support tasks and equipment.
  • Strong communication skills for client interaction.
  • Certification in HVAC technology.
  • Experience with audio and visual equipment installation.
  • Familiarity with building automation systems.
