Turner Industries Group, LLC has an opening for an HVAC Technician to join our Team in the Alpharetta, GA area. The HVAC technician will be responsible for assembling, installing, servicing, and repairing air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating units used in an industrial setting.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent
  • One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
  • Advanced knowledge of industrial/commercial HVAC systems
  • Advanced skill with HVAC diagnostic tools
  • Most sites will require HVAC certification
  • Written pre-employment qualification test
  • Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
  • Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
  • Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
  • Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Responsibilities

  • Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy
  • Look at flat drawings or pictures and visualize how they would look as solid objects with height, width, and depth
  • Perform a variety of duties which may change often
  • Rate information using measurable standards
  • Studies building plans and working drawing to determine work aids required and sequence of installations
  • May measure windows or other existing openings, or cutting through walls, using a mallet, cold chisel, or other tools to install new units
  • Diagnose causes of equipment breakdowns
  • Test parts with appropriate instruments, disassemble and assemble parts, and make necessary repairs
  • May drill holes to mount units and lift parts into position
  • Locates and marks position of pipe and/or duct connections and passage holes for same in walls and floors, using ruler, spirit level, and plumb bob
  • Cuts openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and/or duct fittings, using hand tools and power tools
  • Cuts and threads pipe, using pipe cutters, cutting torch, and pipe-threading machine
  • Connects motors to control panels and balances motors to insure efficient operation
  • Connects control panels to power source
  • May weld holding fixtures to steel structural members
  • May install and maintain solar heating and cooling units
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
