About The Position

The role of the plant-wide HVAC Technician includes, but is not limited to: Maintaining HVAC systems for all plant systems, including overhead cranes and other unites across the site. Troubleshooting systems to identify and resolve issues promptly. Replacing existing units with new equipment as needed. Performing preventative maintenance to ensure optimal system performance. Ordering parts and preparing accutate work orders. Ensuring safety is always the top priority in all tasks. Ability to work at extreme heights in a demanding environment, often under urgent condition conditions. Flexibility to work rotating shifts, scheduled and unscheduled overtime, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Collaborate with area maintenance teams as needed. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least (3) years experience in commercial or industrial HVAC repair.
  • Applicants must have, or be able to obtain, required HVAC certifications within six (6) months of the position start date.

Nice To Haves

  • HVAC certifications and job experience
  • Electrical background with some welding experience
  • Overhead crane maintenance experience
