About The Position

U.S. Facilities, Inc., a consolidated facility management/infrastructure service organization, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a HVAC Technician in Kokomo, Indiana. You will be an essential member of our on-site team, responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections of building systems and equipment. Your expertise in mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems will be crucial for ensuring a safe, comfortable, and functional environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive and resourceful individual with strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Demonstrated experience with powerhouse systems, including boilers and chillers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with all team members and clients.
  • Willingness to learn and assist co-workers.
  • Ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires extensive walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing ladders or stairs.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces, on rooftops, and in various environmental conditions.
  • Must be able to differentiate colors, particularly for wire color-coding.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License in good standing.
  • Subject to a criminal background check and a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required for emergencies.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems, including boilers, chillers, and HVAC units.
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance tasks, such as lubricating equipment, replacing filters, and inspecting belts, bearings, and blowers.
  • Conduct basic repairs on plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems, as well as other assorted equipment like pumps, fans, and gearboxes.
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and disruption.
  • Strictly follow all established safety guidelines, including job hazard analysis and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Utilize hand tools, laptops, and diagnostic equipment to perform work and maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and vendors to coordinate tasks and provide timely updates.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in daily activities and scheduling to meet evolving business and customer needs.
  • Assist with general facility tasks, including drywall patching, painting, and repairing door-locking mechanisms.
